Top Tips for an Inviting Guest Bedroom
If you are planning on having guests stay at your house, you should make sure their experience makes them feel at home. There are a bunch of easy things you can do to make their stay even better! Here are a few of our favorite ways to make your guest room warm and inviting.
Six Simple tips:
One: Make the bed the focal point
Place the bed in the center of the wall on the wall opposite from the doorway. This anchors it as the focal point, creating a welcoming and cozy atmosphere.
Two: Comfy & Inviting Bedding
Avoid the urge to just throw whatever extra sheets and blankets you have around the house onto the guest bed. To help your guest feel comfortable, make sure the bed has soft sheets and add some extra pillows for good measure. We love the Savoy Collection of bedding from the White Company. Their bedding is crafted to last, it is reasonably priced.
Three: Add a few personal touches
Little things like fresh flowers, a few books, or a magazine go a long way! We love this Martine Enamel Pitcher, and we leave it in the guest bedroom. When we know guests are coming, we can easily throw in any flowers we feel like. But if we run out of time, the vase is pretty enough to simply be a decorative element in the room!
Four: Make it functional
No need to clutter up the space with alarm clocks! Our favorite way to make a guest room functional is to provide a charging station. We love the Trexonic 4 in 1 Fast Charge Wireless Charging Station because it has a place to not only charge TWO phones, but also your apple watch and AirPods.
Five: Remember the two “T’s”
Towels and Toiletries! Big, fluffy towels, and toiletries can go a long way to helping your guest feel at home, or even give the illusion of a hotel-like stay (if that’s what you are going for). We recommend the Hotel Collection Turkish Bath Sheets from Macy’s. What’s the difference between bath towels and bath sheets? Bath sheets are a little over 3 inches longer and wider…and trust us, in this case bigger is definitely better. These bath sheets are not only soft, but also absorbant, and they come in a bunch of colors.
Six: Keep it clean and clutter-free
Sometimes it can be super easy to see the guest room as extra storage space. However, you never want your guests to feel like they are staying in storage room! Keep the surface areas clear so that when guests use the room they have a place for personal belongings. Extra points if you have a piece like this Enamel Iron Serving Tray, then your guests will have a designated space to help keep them organized during their stay.
We hope these tips help you create a warm and inviting environment for your guests. As always, if you want to know more, don’t hesitate to reach out!
Until next time,
